So I've been working on some music lately, specifically what'll most likely be an EP of Jungle music, and some songs for the Bedrock Meridian project (which is now available for streaming on soundcloud, seen here!). As well as, ofc, more Withered Worlds shit, but recently I got nostalgic for a piece of music that's seemingly just gone from the internet, save for one specific place.
Back in 2011, this video was uploaded to youtube, from a bygone era. Herobrine was a big thing for folks back then and this live-action thing came about cuz of it. I distinctly remember it, though, because of the song in it. "Forest of Wonder" by MHM Productions.
Outside of this video, the song is completely missing from the internet.
I've tried looking for it many times and each time I came up empty-- save for once a long time ago, when I asked on reddit and got a website... But in my lack of foresight due to not being the sharpest person back then, I neglected to save the song then.
Recently I thought of the song again. Realizing that I may never get to hear the full thing in it's original form, but also wanting to pay homage to it, I may have started a track inspired by this song, titling it "a world of wonder". Appropriately enough, it'll be for Bedrock Meridian.
In a way, I'm reminded of Tribute by Tenacious D, with the idea of making a song as a tribute because they "forgot the original song" as it were. Though, I believe it's been stated in their case, it was about the song Stairway To Heaven. Maybe in this case, Forest Of Wonder is my Stairway To Heaven.
(Gonna actually try to use my blog more often now that I've gotten things set up a lot better for it lol, maybe one day i'll write that follow up to the Sony blog post)
