BUGTUNEZ

As I write this, I'm recovering from a really rough night and a rough sleep, only saved by the fact that I ate some ramen with parm mixed into it and drank an energy drink, and the fact that I was going to be writing this.

Now if there's one thing I'm a massive fan of, it's Nine Inch Nails. And would luck have it thanks to my spinny wheel, it's picked out a Nine Inch Nails album for me!

Add Violence is the second of a trilogy of EPs released from 2016 to 2018, focusing somewhat on societal breakdown and technology. It's about five songs long so it's good for a quick 25 minute listen, give or take. It's also not as aggressive as the previous EP, Not The Actual Events, was.

One of the songs, "This Isn't The Place", was a song about David Bowie, whom had passed away the year before (R.I.P.). Listening to it is heartbreaking.

The music video for the first song on the album, Less Than, heavily features the Llamasoft interpretation of the urban legend "Polybius", which is something i definitely recommend playing if you're in the mood for a good ole arcade-like game.

Listening to the last song, The Background World, gives me the mental image of someone watching a virtual world deteriorate because of the real world leaking in and corrupting everything it touches. Really, it's a fitting feeling for the current times, one of which I am hopeful we'll make it past. The background world reaches into our world, and vice versa.

Favorite Song: The Background World

Favorite Lyric: The world is bleeding out, it folds itself in two. Behind the background world, is always bleeding through.
