BUGTUNEZ

It's after Fourth of July weekend for me, and I had to deal with a lot of exhausting retail work stuff due to that. Before I went into work this Sunday, though, I gave the wheel a spin and it landed on a David Bowie album. The Next Day.

rest in peace david bowie

Now my first thought? "Fuck yeah I can gush about a David Bowie album!"
My second thought? "WAIT HOW AM I GONNA PICK A FAVORITE FROM THIS DAVID BOWIE CONSISTENTLY MAKES LIKE 80 BANGERS A ALBUM."

Needless to say it made for a good mood booster before I went in for dealing with retail work all day lol.

This album is interesting, though, as it came about after David Bowie retreated from the public for about a decade, mostly due to him having treatment at the time for his heart.

The whole album is very reflective, between that, his age, and the fact that he read a whole bunch of english and russian history books during that time. It's an amazing listen, that I can guarentee ya'll.

Fun fact: The whole album was made secretly, with everyone involved having to sign NDAs and the like. No one knew that David Bowie was preparing a new album until the single, "Where Are We Now", was released.

The album itself is 14 songs long, however the deluxe version & vinyl versions of the song has three more songs on it. There's also "The New Day Extra EP", which I do not have sadly, but it has a bunch of outtakes and remixes on it. The playlist above has the deluxe songs and the outtakes at the very end, so I guess you could call it the defacto version of the album if you really wanted.

Favorite Song: Love Is Lost

Favorite Lyric: Your country's new, your friends are new, Your house and even your eyes are new, Your maid is new and your accent too, But your fear is as old as the world
